About the Project

Case study logo
The Department of Emergency Services Tasmania is comprised of firefighters, police, SES, and ambulance officers, in both frontline and non-frontline, career and volunteer capacities. With over 4,000 first responders caring for the wellbeing of the Tasmanian populace, the Department wanted to implement a Health & Wellbeing Portal to care for their staff's wellbeing, too.

Gallagher Bassett and April9 partnered for the development and delivery of the solution. The MyPulse website required different access levels and dedicated 'department pages' tailored for each user group, i.e., Frontline Fire Fighters. This was achieved through a permissions logic in the website and integrating the website with the clients' two Microsoft Azure Active Directories, resulting in a dual-AD authentication system for Single Sign-On. Users can now view content tailored specifically for them, and access services appropriate for their position including online Mental Health & Wellbeing check-ups, Virtual Learning modules, and more.

The project was successfully delivered in 2019, on-time and on-budget. During the Customer Handover phase dedicated April9 resources were on hand to ensure a smooth transition to the production environment and to ratify any system discrepancies.

The April9 account manager for the project also provided extensive training to the MyPulse program management team, through video-call walkthroughs and a 60-page bespoke user manual. Technical documentation was also provided by April9's team to Gallagher Bassett who took on responsibility for the website's production support after handover.

"Working hand in hand with April9 to build a solid, ongoing partnership has been a great outcome in terms of quality delivery and ongoing support. The team at April9 have presented professional, well planned out solutions that have been fit for purpose & with re-use always front of mind."
